Sorry I haven't responded, I've been swamped. Do I have to modify the style of every separate entry I've added as Heading 1? When I looked at the first header, the one in my example, the outline and numbering tab said (in faint text) that the outline level was Level 1 and the numbering style was outline numbering. And there didn't seem to be a way to change it, but it looked right. So I went to edit the TOC. In the Entries tab, I clicked in the left open space in Structure and got an LS tab when I clicked Hyperlink. But when I clicked in the right open space, and then clicked Hyperlink, I got another LS tab at that end; there was an LE tab in the middle of the line, not at the end. I clicked OK and nothing happened. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
OK, I just tried doing the hyperlink thing on both Level 1 and Level 2 - I now have hyperlinks only on Level 2. That will work for me but I'd like to know why Level 1 isn't working.
